Passing of Cornish's Matriarch
Our thoughts go out to Mrs Cornish's nephew Doug and family, survived by his Aunty,
Ellen 'Nel' Cornish (98 years old) who passed away Tuesday 13th April 2010
after a long battle with pneumonia. Mrs Cornish was the wife of Bill Cornish,
who established Cornish's in Tamworth in 1935.

Ag-Quip 2009 has been yet another successful field event. Pictured
right is a shot of our Case IH Merchandise stand with items on sale for the three field days. We also
had promotional prizes and saw a Case IH esky won on each day.
Our Tuesday winner was
Paul Langley from Tullamore NSW, our Wednesday winner was Mel Bowman from
Attunga NSW and our Thursday winner was Robert Clarke from Wallabadah NSW. Congratulations
to all our winners and we hope you get some use out of your prizes.
Sales of new machinery and prospects were promising for the farming industry.
It was great to have a chat and a coffee with some of you over the three days. One of the
features of the field days was our Aussie Power Magnum, featuring the Australian Flag.
These Case IH Magnums can be fitted with a warranted 3 metre front axle,
talk to your local Cornish's branch for more details.

Gunnedah
Terry and Chris Abra (pictured right), from T & C Abra Contract Harvesters based at Curlewis, near Gunnedah had this to say -
"Harvesting sorghum recently our Axial-Flow 8120 peaked at 147 tonnes per hour and averaged 110 tonnes per hour with
uneven crop conditions. With a good, even crop we could have easily averaged 140 tonnes per
hour. The power is impressive too: our 8120 has reached 460 HP.
When the power boost kicks in you really notice the difference compared with other machines.
"We prefer the Axial-Flow combines because they give a very good grain sample and they're easy
to use and have fewer moving parts so they're easier to maintain and service."

Gunnedah Below is Terry, Chris and Cheryl Abra's new
Case IH 8120 Combine.
It was delivered in March 2009 and is the first of the new 20 series to be
delivered by Cornish's Gunnedah.
Terry had an 8010 prior to this and is very happy with what the
new machine has to offer.
The machine is quieter and smoother and the new generation 40ft Case IH
draper front feeds and performs far better than the previous model.
With peak tonnage of 144 ton/hour to date the machine is exceeding the
performance of the previous 8010 even with a straw chopper fitted!

Gilgandra
Luke Godber shown here speaking to local fencing
contractor Bob Marchant at the recent Gilgandra Show.
This year's show was one of the best in recent years. No doubt
this is an indication of the good start we have had to this season.
There were a number of machinery exhibitors selling everything from chainsaws
to silo grain bags to tractors. The show featured a speed shear
competition, wood chopping, parachute jump as well as the usual
livestock and cooking display. The show finished on a high note
with a fireworks display.

Gilgandra
Simpson Williamson commenced working as a Salesman at our Gilgandra branch on the 23 March this year.
He is originally from Tullamore where he worked on his family's mixed farming operation for 10 years.
More recently Simpson worked in Orange for Jarrett Mines but would go home during
sowing & harvest to help out. Simpson moved to Gilgandra along with his partner
who has commenced working as a teacher at the local primary school.
After a number of years not playing rugby Simpson has
joined the mighty Gulargambone Galahs where he plays in the forwards.
Simpson's mobile number is 0428 274 626
