Gilgandra and Narromine
These photos are from a recent visit to
the Shanks family property @ Marathon (about 20kms North of Dubbo).
The family have been in the district since 1914, when Jack's
father and uncle moved there from Victoria, and in Jack's
words 'living under a pine tree', the conditions must have
been harsh, however the family succeeded and the farm is
testimony to the hard work and continued effort to improve
the systems and processes used on today's property.
Rob (Jack's son) and Ben (one of Rob's sons) run a tidy operation,
and in recent weeks have taken delivery of a Magnum 335 c/w GPS Ag
A5 as well as a Gyral Sure Strike - early test results would appear
to be very good with the combination covering the ground with minimum
of effort as well as lowering driver fatigue.
The deal was finalised by our Gilgandra and Narromine branches,
with support from GPS Ag and Gyral staff at the installation of the machinery.

BIG RED ROUND UP
We are happy to say that Darryl Henley & Jason Wood have returned safely
from their trip to the USA for the BIG RED ROUND UP.
They endured temperatures of -25°C, a far cry from the heat
we have been having back here. The group travelled to Chicago to the Case IH Magnum plant in Racine, Wisconsin
and then on to Omaha, Nebraska where they saw the Combine Harvesters being manufactured and then on to Phoenix,
Arizona where the training was held on Steiger, Puma, Magnum and Combine Harvesters. Pictured right is a photo taken of the members from Australia who attended
at the Grand Island Plant in Nebraska where CASE IH combine harvesters are manufactured.
Here is a rare sight indeed -
a row of Case IH combine harvesters lined up as far as you can see ready for shipping. Something
you would only see at the manufacturing plant.
Darryl and Jason, along with the other members who travelled from Australia, were
all amazed at the passion Americans have for Case IH and their machinery. Pictured right is a special edition
tractor painted with the American flag made specially for the Big Red Round Up 2009 training in Phoenix Arizona.

Tamworth After more than 46 years of service for
Kevin Bridges (right) and 30 years of service for Robert McNaughton
(left),
Cornishs
two stalwarts of the business have decided to retire.
A presentation took place in the Tamworth City Bowling Club
recently which allowed friends,
customers and work mates to attend and offer
best wishes to both Kevin and Rob.
Kevin sold the first ever Steiger Panther KP1400 tractor in Australia. Rob purchased the
business jointly with Pat McGarry in 1978. Rob was the company secretary and
accountant but due to poor health Rob has retired to the Central Coast.
Cornish's wish them both the best for their retirement.

Parkes
Steve and Kim Ryan married 20th
September 2008, at St Augustine's Catholic Church, Narromine,
the town where both were born. After a long engagement of
around 9 years family and friends said it was about time. The
photographers Karen and Brooke Shearwood thought it was a
great idea to have some photo's done with the Case IH tractor,
which is fitting as Steve works for Cornish's in Parkes and
has been dealing in Case IH Tractors for 8.5 years. Steve and
Kim celebrated their reception at Narromine's USMC, then
honeymooned at Nelson's Bay and South West Rocks while their
children spent the week at Broken Hill with Kim's Brother and
Sister-in- Law.
